FAQ: FAQ

WHO SHOULD BE A MEMBER OF OKBIA?

The Oklahoma Business Incubator Association (OkBIA) gives you a one-stop location for information, referral and liaison services related to business incubators.

Membership is not limited to incubator managers, sponsors or developers. It also includes service providers, communities, local governments, economic development organizations and businesses that provide services to incubator tenants.

WHAT IS AN INCUBATOR?

Incubators nurture young firms, helping them to survive and grow during the start-up period when they are the most vulnerable. Incubators provide hands-on management assistance, access to financing and exposure to critical or technical support services. They also offer entrepreneurial firms with shared office services/equipment, flexible leases and expandable space.

WHY INCUBATION?

Success Rate! Business incubators reduce the risk of business failures. According to the National Business Innovation Association, 87% of all businesses that graduate from incubators are still in business after five years. Most businesses started outside of an incubator fail within the first four years.
